Job Title: Applications Developer/ REMEDY Administration & Maintenance

Pay Rate: Depending on Experience

Job Description
A. Scope of Work :
§ This contract will provide continuous day-to-day system administration and 
second tier application support services for the District by collecting and 
documenting user's requirements, analyzing and designing enhancement or 
interfaces to the Remedy suite of applications. 
§ The contract will act as primary contact between the District's users, the 
District's Help Desk, the Remedy Project Team and the vendor to drive the 
resolution of issues and requests for upgrades and enhancements as well as 
assisting users and project managers to manage appropriate computer resources 
to support user's needs. 
§ This contract will work closely with the District's Infrastructure team to 
implement any new or upgraded products from the Remedy vendor and ensure that 
the applications have established and documented support and test procedures.

It will include the following tasks:

§ Manage the day to day operations of the Remedy 7 application.
§ Coordinate maintenance to the application so that all affected parties are 
informed and consent.
§ Maintain documentation of customizations that may be affected by future 
patches and upgrades.
§ Create the following types of documents as required to support the 
application:

§ implementation plans
§ communications plans
§ requirement document
§ test plans
§ risk assessment
§ operational level agreement
§ service level agreement

§ Work with the vendor to resolve any incidents or problems related to the 
Remedy application.
§ Coordinate with the IT team to implement new versions of Remedy and to 
maintain the application.
§ Work with the IT team to review and implement any approved customizations to 
the Remedy application.
§ Periodically review performance of the application and provide 
recommendations to proactively maintain its performance level
§ Periodically review license usage and proactively plan for future license 
purchases if necessary.
§ Work with IT team to provide recommendations for software maintenance and 
application support.
§ Provide user support as needed
§ Provide user training as needed

§ Help manage all computer resources in support of Remedy
§ Other Application Administration and IT related duties as required

Work Breakdown Structure: 
Documentation of work product: 
§ The Contractor shall submit a Monthly Status Report (MSR) to the Project 
Manager by the 1st working day following the reporting period month and a final 
MSR. 
§ Each MSR shall: 
§ Summarize the work completed by the contractor during the reporting period on 
a weekly basis.
§ Indicate the total number of hours worked by the contractor during the 
reporting period on a weekly basis.
§ Include copies of a District-approved spreadsheet containing a breakdown of 
the hours worked weekly during the reporting period.

§ Senior Developer
§ Required Skills:

§ BS Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
§ At least 4 years experience managing enterprise level applications.
§ At least 3 years experience with Remedy ITSM and experienced with:

§ Incident Management
§ Problem Management
§ Change Management
§ CMDB
§ Work Flow
§ Migrator

§ At least 1 year experience with Remedy ITSM 7.x

Strong analytical skills: 

§ Ability to communicate well both verbally and in technical documentation
§ Demonstrate ability to work well as a team member
§ Demonstrate ability to own a problem take the problem thru its lifecycle to 
successful resolution
§ Experience as part of a project team for supporting or implementing an 
enterprise application
§ Knowledge of software development life cycle 
§ Communicate clearly and persuasively, both verbally and in writing, to a wide 
variety of staff and management levels.

Desired Skills but not required:

§ Strong knowledge of Application Server Management 
§ Strong knowledge of Oracle 10g databases
