I know that adding and modifying entries in the CTM:People Permissions
Groups has workflow in place to add licenses if needed for that permission
group. I have not really checked to see if that is true for DELETE and do
not have a system in front of me at the moment to check that. You could try
checking the filters that fire when a permission group is added and see if
these are set to fire on DELETE. If not modify them to fire on delete, and
test with a single delete.. If that works, it should work on bulk deletes..

Reset the filters back after the operation is complete..

They do not have these filters to fire on MERGE anymore with the new
applications because with the new apps you are supposed to use the data load
forms to mass load data and promote it from there.. Since the promotion
stage is not a MERGE operation but a SUBMIT, these filters are now only set
to fire on SUBMIT and MODIFY (and I think DELETE too).

Subject: Ideas on Procedure for mass update for user licenses ....

  **
Due to an automated provisioning process our licenses got out of synch and
we need to go back and mass change several itsm users to read-only and give
some users more licenses. We have thought through a process and are
wondering if anyone has any input/thoughts or has had to do this before.

Based on our testing - removing an entry from the "CTM:People Permission
Groups" form removes all relevant information in the user form. To resolve
people that got a license and shouldn't we are going to simply remove the
entry from " CTM:People Permission Groups". To resolve the issue with
adding licenses we simply will create a .csv and import into the "
CTM:People Permission Groups". We haven't tested that piece yet but are
hoping that the workflow kicks in to update the User table. Anybody tried
this or have any other ideas?

  Thanks,

  Sean
