I currently run 7.5 against 7.0.1 but Ive also ran 7.1 without any problems. According to the compatibility matrix, 7.1 is supported for 7.0, you should have no issues. I would actually recommend you check out 7.5, as you then get Safari and Chrome support, which made a lot of my users happy.
