Actually, it is in the documentation (Configuration Guide) if you are talking 
about user passwords.

The Password field is encrypted into the database by using a one-way hash 
(SHA1).

It’s a native proprietary encryption algorithm that Remedy uses. I’m not really 
sure they would divulge anything more than that..
