The directory is stored in with attachment name. If you do a Set Fields to a character fields on a form and record with an attachment, you'll see it.
Mid Tier? I didn't think you can run those processes on the Mid Tier server (no client). They work fine on the ARS server, just use Filters rather than Active Links. Unless you run Remedy on a Windows server, managing directories could be tricky.
