Ø You will need to generate new 7.1+ licenses from the BMC Support website as they change when moving to ARS 7.1+.
Just FYI, this is not quite correct. While it is true that the format changed, the importing of pre-7.1.00 license files automatically converts the server license key format to 7.1.00. This can occur either during an upgrade or when the import is done post-install. However, if the hostid has changed, that seems the most obvious issue to address. -David J. You will be given the selection of the version of ARS that you are licensing. And yes, the ARS key is dependent on the host ID of the server you are running it on. On the plus side, the only "key" that you need is the AR Server license, and others can be added without a key. Obviously, you need to actually own the licenses to "install" them. Hope this helps. We have successfully installed ARS and mid tier, now I was licensing ARS 7.6. I imported licenses from ARS 6.4 to ARS 7.6. But when I am starting next installation(CMDB), it's saying ARServer is not licensed. Is it dependent on machine Id or something, as new environment is on a different machine as that of the old environment? Can anyone please suggest something?
