Objet: Patching up a UAT remedy server.

Dear  listers,

Somtime ago we sat up a remedy server for UAT testing. We copied the production
database and the remedy server to two separate machines.

We made all the necessary changes to the configuration files of all the
services and we did the same to the workflow and data to remove any references
to production.

I am in the process of installing change on this UAT server. So I started by
running the Patch11 server install. I click on agree to the licence agreement
window and I get prompted with the name of the AR System server to overwrite.
However, the name of the server I am getting is the production server rather
than the UAT one. So I remove the production server name and enter the UAT
server name, thinking it all fine. After going through all the subsequent
screens I get to the last one and I am asked if I want to stop the following
services that are currently running:

BMC Remedy Email Engine - remedyprod
BMC Remedy Flashboards server
BMC remedy Action Request System Server

The service(s) must be stopped before processing.
Do you want to stop the service(s)?

It looks like it is about to start shutting down the production server and
start upgrading production instead, since the email engine and flashboard on
the UAT server are set to manual.

Anyone had this problem and any chance we can upgrade UAT with touching
production?

Kind Regards
frex
