Hi John, I believe what you are asking for was introduced in the ITSM 7.6.04 Suite. From the "What's New" section of the release notes:
21-Jan-2011 BMC Software is releasing version 7.6.04 of the BMC Remedy IT Service Management suite. In other words, when drilling down from a console, the drill down is opened in the same browser window without opening up a new window or tab. -David J.
