Tier 3 as "Third Party" is out-of-the-box functionality, and also best-practice for integrations with BMC Discovery tools like ADDM. Also, any product catalog updates (like the notification sent yesterday) will tend to model themselves after the original categorizations.
I am not an opponent of changing product categorizations to suit specific functionalities, this is more of a friendly reminder that there are ramifications to altering the OOTB install that should be considered. .:Mike:. The catalog contains "Third Party" in the Tier 3 for all software entries. (Software->Application->Third Party). Does anyone has catalog with the more appropriate "tier 3" information, that would indicate what is this application for. For instance "Database Server" for the Microsoft SQL Server, and "Client Tool" for all MS Office products.
