Hi,

I allways get data in 'Field.VALUE', but...

It does not seem to be possible to specify the conversion date of a field,
as the actual conversion values is based on the current date rather than
the conversion date specified.

If you click on the expand box to show all currencies, you will NOT get
the field values stored in the database. It will always show conversions
based on the current time. This makes things hard to debug.

I have reported this currency deficiency (and many more) to BMC, but have
not received much of a response. Except the usual "give me more logs",
"give me your ar.conf", etc.

I was on version 7.6.04 when I did my struggling, and you seem to be way
behind with 6.3. On the other hand, I do not believe that much has been
done to the currency field since they were introduced.

The lack of response when posting to the list also seems to indicate that
the currency field functionality is simply not in use. At least nothing
more than getting a formatted field.

I also noticed that the new 7.6.04 built in web reporting does not allow
computation/statistics/summaries on currency fields at all...

What I ended up doing was this:

1. For each currency field, I created a shadow in my base accounting
currency (SEK), where I stored the actual SEK-value based on the
conversion date.

2. I created a service that did all the calculation. For example allowing
me to add two currency fields together without loosing precision and the
conversion ratios based on the conversion date.

3. If web reporting is required, you must create another decimal-type
shadow to hold the value.
