The system is supposed to scan everything for viruses.

I'm not sure what the limit is on the attachments, I assume it is the same
as the limit of a posting,

So to answer both questions, yours and the other poster:

I have changed the limit to 250k

I did not mean 250k lines.

I meant 250k bytes.

You may wonder why the small limit: this goes out to 4100 unique
destinations.

Whatever size limit I create that is larger is N X 4100; where N is that
increase in limit

[and for those of you familiar with the inner workings of listserv, yes it
is more efficient than that and I am simplifying].

I have to see what my ISP says about hitting new limits. i.e. If I get a
huge bill next month or a panic call that my bandwidth

Usage has quadrupled, I have to go back. So as long as people like John
don't decide that it would

Be fun to test this and see what happens, we are fine.

And I am not going to say which John, it was just a good name to choose.

More importantly, when someone named Doug comments about not being able to
do an attachment,

I figure we would all prefer he could J If a Doug says he needs a bigger
attachment, and the bad side hasn't happened,

I'll increase again.

Please don't try to post the standard 5gigs of logs that BMC Support asks
for, in 250k chunks. If we needed that, we would be BMC Support.

**

Question: Do you scan for viruses on attachments before sending them on?

What is the size limit on the attachments?

Thanks for making these enhancements.

My prediction is that one of the 3 will be the most common attachment:
ar.cfg, activelink.log, arfilter.log J

I have added the ability to include attachments,

And changed the posting limit from 1000 lines to

250k.

This is on a temporary basis to see how it goes. Please only

Attach important things, not fancy signatures.

Please Note: This also increases the probability of receiving

Viruses etc. so practice safe computing. Never open an attachment

Without first running it through a current, reliable virus checker.

Emails leaving my server are automatically checked which should help,

But of course someone could disguise them in remedy workflow etc.

Happy posting .. Dan
