Awesome! Another toy! Actually I think it’s a pretty cool idea making the old traditional visiting card look like its for that ape from the GEICO ads...
Has anyone toyed around with the idea of having those 2 dimensional bar codes to make a ‘mecard’ from QR reader and actually use it in email signatures? I think it’s a pretty cool idea as you can scan that code and it creates a contact on smartphones on scanning those.. Looks like we will all be getting the Mingle Stick thingie when we get to WWRUG, and it's a way to pass vcard info to and from one another easily and wirelessly. It's legit. You can set up your account and decide what information gets passed along. It's even configurable, so you can have different sets of information based on the trusted status of the recipient. I would guess that it is also how at least some vendor prizes will be signed up for. Instead of scanning your badge, you'll just Mingle-thingie them. At least, that's how I would do it. I don't have any inside info that says that's how it will really work.
