I would never use the sync feature as it moves loads of hidden fields. Just use the add fields to view function.

If so, your doing it wrong. Your suppose to use the Sync feature which moves the fields from the CMDB classes to the AST classes for you. When adding fields manually to a form, you can change the default value to pretty much any value you want. Once you save though, you can't change the ID.
