While it is technically possible to change a CI type I do not recommend it.
Instead, I've done a Meta-Update script for a customer in a similar situation that changed the product catalogue, and replicated CIs in the correct class along with all related records (associations, relationships, contracts, etc). Once the CIs are replicated and validated, the script deletes the old CIs. If interested, contact me off-list. Cheers Ben Chernys Senior Software Architect Software Tool House Inc. We initially loaded many records into the wrong CI Class a couple months ago. Since that time, modifications have been made to the CIs. Is there a way to go "behind the scenes" and change the CI Type to the correct class. I realize that not all of the attributes are the same amongst classes and I would therefore need to evaluate what attributes would not carry over to the new class. I know I have AIE I can fall back on but I was hoping to have a quick little "trick" to move the data to the appropriate CI Class. We are currently using Application Management & CMDB 7.5.
