I have it like your first example.

I was just reusing an existing test field I had thinking a character field 
would be ok, but I will try a Real Number field to see if that is causing a 
problem.

When you do the set field do you have it as:
$Field1$ / 100

OR
$Field1$ + " / 100"

The 2nd one the system will definitely see as concatenation not a mathematical 
function.

Also, why can't Testfield be a real number also?
