@Mike, please find answers to your queries:
How close it integrated with Remedy?
è It comes OOTB integrated with Remedy. You can access it from IT Home Page;
and it uses BMC Remedy ITSM Change Management for approvals and BMC SRM for
service requests.
Does it use Remedy permissions or it is completely separate product that
using its own permissions and entitlements?
è Its a separate product and if you want to implement it, BMC recommends to
implement a fresh with Fresh AR, ITSM, CMDB, BBSA, BBNA and BAO. It uses
both ITSM and its own permissions and entitlements. During Installation it
creates its own Roles and Permissions, and also uses ITSM permissions.
Does it use the CMDB?
è It does use CMDB.
Also, it uses Cloud DB (OOTB provide with CLM setup, A subset/limited CMDB
classes) which in turn updates CMDB or uses CMDB.
Does it create service requests, tasks, etc.? Or it is system completely
outside of remedy?
è Its a complete separate application where you can register a Service
Request using its own Service Catalogue and this request would be visible in
ITSM as the ticket number is generated from BMC Remedy itself. So Yes, it
creates service request and tasks.
