To echo the others, I've noticed strange happenings and anomalies when users are on IE7, not even 6. Even if you by some miracle get this latency issue resolved, you are sure to run into plenty more issues with pages rendering properly, and javascript errors. Like the others said, it's time to let go of IE6. Good luck.
