As Fred mentions, it is only the Alert Tool desktop client that has reached its
end of life. The functionality on the server side remains.

Netcool/OMNIbus Gateway for Remedy ARS

Alert is available thru the web by putting the Alert list table on a form (or
having the user look at the Alert Events form) so I do not think it will be
going away.

What you are talking about is having a program running on the Netcool object
server that uses the Remedy API or a web service to listen for alerts. Check
the 7.6.04 Configuration guide starting on page 256 for more info.

Subject: alert notification functionality and the IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus
Gateway for Remedy ARS

**
The "IBM Tivoli Netcool/OMNIbus Gateway for Remedy ARS" uses the ARS Alert
Notification functionality to ship updates back to the Omnibus.
Basically they have filters executing on modify or delete with a Notify
mechanism = Alert action back to the omnibus user for bi-directional
communication.

With 7.6.04 moving exclusively to web client and off the WUT and Alert User
what is the roadmap for the Alert functionality?

I would hate to implement a solution using this gateway if BMC direction is to
obsolete the Alert notification functionality.
