All that sync UI is really doing is adding the custom field you added to the CMDB, into the views on the AST forms.
You can do the same thing in DevStudio by opening the AST form and clicking the 'Add Fields to View' menu option. Adding menu items to your selection's in CMDB will be available to your custom fields you added to the AST forms immediately. Sent from my Apple device...
