It's pretty simple, just follow your web server's steps for installing the cert file and configuring the web server for SSL. You will of course have to obtain an SSL certificate for your server. There's nothing that has to be done beyond that in the Mid-Tier, it's all related to the web server config. Consult the documentation for your flavor of web server. I configured it on our Apache/Tomcat servers (on Linux boxes), it was about 5 steps. Took about 30 minutes once I figured out the steps and how to apply the cert.
