Hello!

First, I had not seen this list of "technical discussions" about me until this
morning. This was priceless! And I am so happy that you didn't stray too far
off topic. :-)

Next, I'll keep this short. Dan was right in that a minor cerebral aneurysm
coiling last summer went without incident. Last Thursday a portion of my skull
was removed, some complicated blood vessel junctions were repaired, and they
sealed it all up again. I have a most splendid row of staples in my head. Very
attractive. I am told there are only about a dozen people who could handle
this, and two of them were there. All I had to do was show up, and pretty much
sleep through it. There appear to be no long lasting effects, other than a
splitting headache and a well swollen left eye, which gets better every day.
This was unexpected, and I for one am very pleased by it all.

By the way we took movies!

Let's not let the list become any more medically distracting than necessary. I
have nothing to do for the next week, feel free to chat off list :-)

And thank you all for your waves of support and good will! That, more than
almost anything else, binds this community together for me, and means more than
you can know.

Doug
