A couple of the values are used by workflow such as Ordered, Received, Deployed, In Inventory, and Delete. The others may but I am not sure. Ordered and Received are used by both Purchasing and Receiving console. If you change the values, it may screw up a bunch of these systems. I am 99% sure they don't use the ID's but the values themselves. You should be fine adding values to the list. Managers don't like seeing unused values in their menu though. Doh!
