Capturing the $LASTID$ in a Field using Filters

Hi All,



I am trying to Capture the $LASTID$ using a Filter.



I am able to display the $LASTID$ using a Filter but when I try to assign
the value to a Character Field I get some different set of numbers stored
in it.



Is there any work-around to assign the value to a field using a Filter?
