Hi Brad,
Before creating custom class, please check if you can use CDM
recommendations from BMC.
I am sure some class will match to some extent to your ci data  and you can
create custom attributes to incorporate the rest even then check the
existing attributes if you can utilize any ootb attribute from the class.
Your initial efforts can save you from going  for creating and managing a
new class.
If it doesn't work out at all, go for custom class.
