Are you capturing the value being returned by the operation? If so, is it indicating the failure (i.e. returning 0). Also, are you capturing a workflow log to make sure the reference values (e.g. the 'SourceFieldID' and 'TargetFieldID' in my example) are being set correctly? If you still can't get it working, would it help if I cobble together a small working demo and send it in a .def file? You could then "morph" it into the workflow you need.
