Hi listers -

We're trying to offload CMDB reconciliation jobs onto some new dedicated AR
servers. We'd like normalization to run there too but that's a topic for
another day.

Right now we're having some partial weirdness. We have our main admin server
set to not have any value in the Server Group Operation Ranking form (SGORf)
for both CMDB and reconciliation. Two other new servers are set to 1 and 2 for
those two options respectively (server 1 is #1 for both, server 2 is #2 for
both).

If I have top running in linux and we kick off a recon job I see the CPU spike
on the admin server that's not supposed to be doing anything. The CPU's on the
new servers stay steady at about 20%. They have no users on them at all.

Then, hours later, I see a log file on the new server that is essentially
empty. Checking the CMDB console shows the job ran "successfully" but zero
records were processed.

BMC has said that we need to put the "CMDB" item in the SGORf back to the admin
server as #1. I haven't done that yet because we need to schedule an outage
for the restart, but it got me to thinking. What is the CMDB item in the
SGORf? What does it actually DO? It's not recon jobs or normalization. It's
no the AI nor is it the AIE.

It's not the CMDB plugins etc, because those are server specific.

I literally have no idea what this thing is.
