Hi Sweety,

1. Audited fields are those fields that when changed trigger an audit
operation. They won't be copied to the audit form unless they change.
2. Copied fields are those fields whose values are copied to the audit form
when any one of the audited fields are changed.
3. Audited and copied are fields that trigger an audit if they change
and are also copied if some other field change triggers an audit.

There are 2 kinds of audit forms. The log version has a delimited string
field with the field changes logged within it. The form version uses a
complete copy of the form to hold the audit information in matching fields.
In both methods there are additional core fields for data such as the login
of the user making the change and the date of the change.

I find the form based auditing to be a pretty useful and powerful feature.
It can be used for creating features such as

   1. A detailed audit log with before and after field values, who changed
   it and when
   2. Keeping a version history of items that can be viewed in their
   original state
   3. If you are trying to keep a remedy system in sync with another system
the audit form may be a better source than the actual form as changes can
be replicated without gaps in order

Hope this helps,

Rod Harris
