You may also want to try installing the latest sp4 or sp5 patch for 7.6.04 mid-tier. We installed this version - MT_7604SP4_2014Feb27_CU_ALL - of the sp4 patch for the mid-tier and that resolved many of the issues we were having in both IE and Firefox.
