Quick overview:
* BOXI on remote Windows server
* ARS/MT 8.1 on the same server, SuSe Linux, non-root install
* Remote Oracle DB
* Report working directory set to /<install dir>/ar/reportTemp
* HTTP/App server is Websphere, running as user ws
* Remedy is running as user "d" for this example
* /ar/reportTemp is owned by user ws with permissions drwxrws---
* Web/AR reports work just fine
We are 99.9% sure the BOXI server in installed and configured correctly with
the ARWebReportViewer - we have other implementations of Remedy in this
configuration. But all of those have independent mid-tier servers.
When we try to run a BOXI report we get the following error (see end of
message). On the surface it seems to indicate the directory on the BOXI server
already has the report, but when we check it the report does NOT exist in the
BOXI working directory on the server.
I suspect that the BOXI server is - for some reason - unable to get the report
definition (*rpt) file from the Linux server for some reason and it's throwing
the error below. Does anyone know exactly how the report definition file gets
from the AR server to the BOXI server? My understanding was it went like this:
1. User presses "Run"
2. MT downloads report definition
3. Report definition goes to the BOXI server (HOW?)
4. BOXI server logs into the AR server using the user's credentials and
server name, grabs data, formats report with AR Web Report Viewer
5. BOXI send format back to MT for display.
Thanks in advance...I can't find anything about this error related to Remedy
anywhere.
