I did that to my cable connection when I used to travel frequently. They
raised the monthly from 99+Taxes for triple play to 140+Taxes and realized
its generally only on Saturdays and Sundays that I watch a few things that I
can stream online anyways and then knocked off cable and kept just phone and
internet. I'm not much of a TV person anyway. More of a rent a DVD and watch
it at your convenience kind of a person. Or buy shows like BBT that I like
on DVD on eBay when I win an auction or two.

Ha ha! Yeah, I can imagine that is getting old.

We had a new roof put on a year-and-a-half ago. The roofers threw the
Direct TV dish back on the roof but it wasn't aligned right. We went a
month or two without network TV, realized we were not missing it and
cancelled. We stream Amazon videos with our prime membership and get discs
from Netflix. We just bought an antenna to start picking up some local
channels but haven't figured out the best place for it yet.

Too depressing for my tastes! Especially when they end most news capsules
these days with 'oh by they way be prepared for another foot of snow'!

I just heard that too on CNN. Along with a lot of other depressing news.
Makes me sometimes wonder if it really is that bad to not stay informed
about current affairs. Ignorance is sometimes bliss..

All,

For those who watched Star Trek as a kid and thought that the future the
show was showing, was what future generations would be living. This is a sad
day.

I have always wonder how many of our scientists, engineers and others, got
their starts because of adventures of Spock, Jim Kirk and the rest of the
crew of the USS Enterprise.

One of Mr. Nimoy's last quotes was "A life is like a garden. Perfect moments
can be had, but not preserved, except in memory"

"He's not really dead as long as we remember him." -- Dr. McCoy, Star Trek
II -- The Wrath of Khan. RIP.

With that said, I do hope we all "Live Long and Prosper".
