Saving isn't possible in ACT v1, but it is in the development version:
UNIX:

To save, use the "Edit Subject in Artemis ..." or "Edit Query in Artemis ..."
menu items

and then save as normal from Artemis.
I'm planning to add a simpler "Save All Entries" menu item to ACT soon.
