Hi. It sounds like your Linux machine still has the (buggy) default version of java rather than the Sun version. We recommend the Sun JDK version 1.1.8 which you can get from here: http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.blackdown.org/java-linux/JDK-1.1.8/i386/v3/jdk118_v3-glibc-2.1.3.tar.bz2 This is a slightly older version but it may be easier to install if you have a RedHat Linux system: http://www.mirror.ac.uk/sites/ftp.redhat.com/pub/contrib/libc6/i386/jdk-117_v1a-2.i386.rpm Kim.
