Hi, If I have a genome which I manually annotate and add a new CDS I need to give it a locus_tag identifier. I understand that it should be unique, but does it need to be in the correct numerical order with the already existing locus_tags?
For example in a genome I have locus tags ABC_001-ABC_010, I then add a CDS after locus_tag ABC_002 and give it a unique locus_tag of ABC_011. Now I have 11 CDS all with unique locus_tag identifiers, but they are not in numerical order. Does that matter or not? If it matters, how can I then renumber the CDS with the correct locus_tag?
