One change from 2.0.x to 2.1.x is support for jar indexing. After the upgrade a one-time initial indexing of exiting jars runs in the background which may impose temporary higher memory requirements than usual. It is possible that your server is still indexing jars in the background (you should be able to see indication for this in the log), and memory consumption should become lower when this is completed.
In normal running condition the numbers you mentioned should suffice to a typical instance, but actual memory requirements vary depending on the amount of concurrent access you have and, if using many wildcard searches, also the repository size (influencing Lucene's wildcard searches). If you do not have high level of concurrent deployments you can edit $ARTIFACTORY_HOME/data/workspaces/default/workspace.xml and change 'extractorPoolSize' to a lower value. Also, expect lower overall memory requirements in 2.1.4 as we made improvements in this area in this version.
