There are two things that would cause artifacts to be removed automatically:

   * A local or remote-cache repo configured to retain only a limited
     number of unique snapshots -
     http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/Local+Repositories ,
     http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/Advanced
   * A remote repo configured to auto-clean unused artifacts -
     http://wiki.jfrog.org/confluence/display/RTF/Managing+Caches
