Finally found one solution, which involves using an in-house artifactory repo
(wanted to setup one anyway):
buildscript {
apply {
'http://localhost:8180/artifactory/remote-repos/org/jfrog/buildinfo/build-info-extractor-gradle/1.0.0/artifactoryinitplugin-1.0.0.gradle'
}
}
I guess my artifactory instance defined other repos necessary to download
the plugin's dependencies.
