Hi, I recently re-indexed my installation of Artifactory and now each of my repositories has a folder at the root named ".index". Inside each of these folders is nexus-maven-repository-index.gz and nexus-maven-repository-index.properties. These were not present prior to the re-indexing. I've re-indexed a few times in the past and this has never happened.
I run a script on my server to clean up old artifacts according to some rules, and this folder caused problems for that script. I've modified the script accordingly, so the only remaining issue seems to be an aesthetic one (folders showing up in the web interface), but I wonder if the presence of these folders is something I need to concern myself with. Running Artifactory 2.3.1 rev 12714.
