Yes the build is marked as failed. But as far as I know it is not a post build action. I configured them as build settings and in the pom as a part of the build lifecycle.
I got this message in the console output twice: [PMD] Setting build status to FAILURE since total number of annotations exceeds the threshold 0: [HIGH] the first time is when maven executes the maven plugin. the second time is after the build, even after the "BUILD SUCCESS" message. That is why i am not sure, if it is a post build action or not. Anyway the second message is too late.
