From the “tree browser”, for dom4j:jar:1.6 on http://repo2.maven.org/maven2,  I 
have zapped the cache, deleted the 1.6 directory, bounced Artifactory, tried 
again, same error, zapped and deleted again, tried again, and again the same 
error.

Artifactory Pro Power Pack 2.3.2 (rev. 13005)

Does a database record for the artifact stick around even after a delete?

Level of frustration by developers unable to build steadily increasing.  :(

I'm afraid you'll have to restart Artifactory and then try to delete it.

Basically, the remote repo has it, but the state of the artifact in the
Artifactory database somehow seems to be corrupt.

I tried deleting that artifact from the tree via the Artifactory webapp, but
it did not help.  I'm stuck.  How do I clean this up?
