Firstly, I would like to apologise if I’m not using the correct
terminology, networks and security are not my forte.

I am the administrator of our Artifactory repository and unfortunately I
work in a strict environment. I have been told by security that I am not
allowed to access any remote repositories via Artifactory, and this is
starting to take its toll now, especially when dependency trees are quite
big.
I had a chat with one of our security guys and he has offered a solution.
He’s happy to have a DMZ server connect to the central Maven repository
and then let Artifactory connect to the DMZ server. I understand this in
theory, but I’m not sure how this would work in practice. I want to avoid
making a snapshots of the central maven repository because this will be
massive, but how can I get the DMZ machine to retrieve only the artefacts I
require?

Thanks in advanced for any solutions offered.
