We recently decided to move from ant to maven and this brought up another
situation free of charge.
When it comes to licensing of the artifacts in public repositories. My
understanding is i some body is uploading an artifact to lets say maven
central repo then :
1. if they dont include license file or any license url they are going to
fall under apache 2.0 as i hope that is the policy to upload.
2 . If they include license file or url then it adheres to that.
3. Or is it like as we have downloaded from maven central then the
licensing of transient depencies is not some thing we need to care about ?
4. Or use artifactory license plugin > run the license search .. which ever
came with valid license it's good .. what ever came with no licesne is like
gift from open source ;-)
Please add in your thoughts how others are handling when it comes to
corporates consuming these artifacts.
