We restored an older backup (two weeks) and restarted tomcat instead of just the artifactory context and it began to work. Maybe if yesterday, after the backup restoration of the last friday, we would have restarted tomcat and not just artifactory it would have worked also. :-/ Who knows...
After starting up artifactory we've been doing some forensic and we found a communication error with our database just before artifactory went down. We're still investigating what happened.
