Sounds like what I see is correct.

The problem I had, it seems, is a bug in Netbeans 7.1.2. I found that this bug
has already been filed, confirmed, and marked as fixed for the 7.2 release of
NB. I noticed in one of the NB logs that it was failing to successfully connect
and retrieve the nexus indexes from Artifactory and searched for the error
message. The log showed some sort of authentication OR connection error like,
"NB won't connect to http://host:8081/artifactory/index......"; something like
that. The choice was use an unstable NB nightly or back off to version 7.1 of
NB. I went to 7.1 and now it seems to be working fine.

One of the posts to the NB bugzilla issue looked to be from some involved with
their release management that this won't be released until 7.2 is, but someone
suggested it be included earlier in a patch. But it might have to do with
whether they want to devote testing resources to an incremental patch.

I also had a problem with a zipexception in Artifactory, but once I removed
some non-virtual repositories from the index list this went away. I can't
remember, but between all of this I may have restarted everything to get it all
working together.

Regardless, it all seems good. Wish I could say the same for my stuff. :D

Thought you might like the info on the NB issue.

BillR

Hi,

What do you mean by "locked"?

If you've installed Artifactory as a service on your system, the artifactory
user is created as a service user with no password configured - as it's a
system user that should not directly logged in to (though you should be able to
'su' into it).

We can try and help you out if you'd like to elaborate in regard to your issues.

I just installed Artifactory on a new system and noticed that the Artifactory
/Linux user/ account is locked (i.e. ARTIFACTORY_USER). What kind of issues
will this cause? This new install isn't working the way I expected, so am
curious if this might be the cause.

I don't want to say what the issues might be because I want an idea what a
locked user account could do with no preconceived ideas of what it is doing.
:)

TIA and Best Regards,
