The release staging process forces one to pick the next development version.
Example: foo-1.0.0-SNAPSHOT is released as 1.0.0 and incremented to
1.0.1-SNAPSHOT
Sometimes, this is undesired. In our system, for instance, the creation of
that version creates confusion because of the way we track new versions.
Would it be possible to make the creation of the development version
optional?
If you are interested in the change, I could work on it and submit a pull
request.
