Hi Hugh, The incremental backup, as you suspected, deletes artifacts that no longer exist in Artifactory from the backup folder. A full backup, opposed to an incremental one, stays complete once it is finished, and the next full backup simply creates another backup, you can of course set it up to keep only a specified number of complete backups.
The recommended setup is to set-up at least one incremental backup job (usually a daily one) and one full backup (usually a weekly backup), if you set the full backup as weekly, we recommend setting the retention period hours to more than 168 hours (1 week), this way, the first backup will be kept intact, and when the second one finishes, the first one will still not be 168 hours old, so i t will not be deleted and you would have 2 full backups intact, only the third successful full backup will delete the first one. Hope this helps, Itamar -- View this message in context: http://forums.jfrog.org/Question-about-incremental-backup-behaviour-tp7579837p7579937.html Sent from the Artifactory - Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Infragistics Professional Build stunning WinForms apps today!
