We have set up an incremental backup on our Ubuntu Artifactory instance
(3.0.0.30104) that runs nightly and backs up to a file share via a CIFS
mount. This works fine, but is really slow. In watching disk traffic, it
looks like even with the incremental backup it's still rewriting every file
even if it already exists in the backup location. Is this expected
behavior? I would have thought that even across mounts, that the
incremental backup should be really quick. Is there something I'm missing,
or is this slow incremental backup behavior just the way it is with no real
performance change from a non-incremental backup?

As a test I did a backup of a 2 gig repository to local disk, and no matter
whether I did a new or incremental, it took about 2 minutes to complete, so
it appears that the type disk location is not making a difference.

Thanks!
Scott
