yes, that's right. Generally the reason to use a separate repo manager like
Artifactory is to share dependencies with other people, just as with a central
source control server. So there would be one copy on the Artifactory server,
and another on the client machine of each developer.
If it's just you, there may be no great advantage to storing things in
Artifactory. You can just store things in folders on your local disk in the
same layout as you would in Artifactory, and point Gradle to them using a
"file:" URL. In this case, Gradle won't bother "downloading" them to a
separate Gradle cache, and will just use them in-place.
