Dear Ron, I am new to the arts list. I read your email attached below (from the aRts Mail archive) . I am trying to setup network audio. I would be grateful for information on:
1) How to configure an arts server (artsd) with specified IP address and port number, (2) How to start/ stop the server, (3) How to configure arts clients to use artsd across a network, (4) How to connect clients across the network and execute sound events (for example playing an audio CD) running on the sever. I have been attempting to use a program called rplay but it has been a little disappoinging (I was able to play a CD via rplayonly on the server and with a scratchy sound).. I am using SuSE8.0.
