Dear all??

I am a student of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, and I am
currently using the Montecalro module of ARTS for microwave simulation at
183GHz. But during the operation, I encountered several issues that I would
like to consult with you:

1. Without modifying any of the contents of the Montecalro
folder??controlfiles\artscomponents\montecarlo??, I first ran
TestMonteCarloDataPrepare.arts and then TestMonteCarloGeneral.arts. However,
when running the TestMonteCarloDataPrepare.arts file, the following error
occurred????Warning:No pnd_field_file specified.Ignored here, but user HAS TO
add that later on!??. I don't understand why the pnd_field_raw.xml given in the
example folder cannot be read.

2. I attempted to change the shape of the input scattered particles and PSD. I
have found the exact method for forming XML files for SSP in your team's
demo_ssp4arts.py. However, regarding the formation of PSD files, such as
pnd_field_raw.xml, I don't know how to form it. For example, if I want to use
PSD distributions such as MGD, MH97, H13, F05, F07??Field,2007?? to form the
XML file required for ARTS input, which method should I use to form it? Do ARTS
have tools or code that can form such pnd_field_raw.xml file?

3. In the Montecalro module??controlfiles\artscomponents\montecarlo??, both
lat_grid.xml and lon_grid.xml files have positive and negative values. I don't
understand why they should be set in this form. Can I run the Montecalro module
based on the actual longitude and latitude input of atmospheric profiles data?

Thank you for reading my letter amidst your busy schedule. Looking forward to
your reply, thank you a lot!

Yours,
 Li Zhuoyang
