Hi all,
Below, you will find information about two open positions:
1. Postdoc directed towards the AWS and ICI missions
2. Open rank faculty position in satellite remote sensing
Please consider applying and help to spread the word. If you have any
questions: [email protected]
1. Observing the Arctic atmosphere using the new generation of
operational microwave sensors
---
The Geoscience and Remote Sensing division at Chalmers University of
Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to
join an international team at the forefront of microwave radiative
transfer and data retrieval. In this project, you will utilise data from
the new generation of European satellite-based microwave radiometers to
derive information on the Arctic atmosphere, in collaboration with other
members of the team and external collaboration partners. The project
enables you to be among the first to apply the novel sub-millimetre
observations provided by the Arctic Weather Satellite and the Ice Cloud
Imager.

For various reasons, the text in the vacancy note is restrictive. Some
clarifying comments:
- You can apply even without a ready PhD, as long as you will get one
relatively soon
- You can apply even with a PhD more than three years old, but we are
obliged to prioritise ones within the time limit
- If you have a special research interest associated with e.g. ARTS, ICI
and AWS, we are open to discussion about the direction of the position
2. Associate Professor or Assistant Professor in Satellite Remote Sensing
---
Chalmers University of Technology (Gothenburg, Sweden) is recruiting a
tenure-track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in Satellite
Remote Sensing, with a focus on Earth observation and instrument/method
development. The position is based in the Division of Geoscience and
Remote Sensing (GEO) within the Department of Space, Earth and
Environment (SEE). This open-rank faculty position comes with a
competitive salary and good social benefits, as well as including
funding for a doctoral student.
As one of Sweden’s leading universities, Chalmers provides a dynamic and
forward-thinking research and teaching environment with strong
connections to government agencies and industry. The successful
candidate will enjoy a supportive and inspiring work environment in
which to develop their research program while strengthening the
division’s profile.
